This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I work equally well on both ends of the lens. At least for photos.
The Men Who Stare at Goats
Wed Nov 18, 2009, 7:52 AM
Saw The Men Who Stare at Goats. It's a fun movie. NOT a comedy, a fun movie. Don't expect it to be funny, unless by funny you mean absurd.
It's surprisingly accurate in all areas except the actual plot. Jon Ronson (author of the book on which it was based) never went to Iraq with a crazy former member of the First Earth Battalion and never became a "Jedi Warrior" himself. The goat-staring experiments were not really successful, and the military has not (as far as I know) hired any psi-oriented companies as contractors for the War on Terror. Also, there were a lot more people involved in the attempt to create a super-army than the movie implies, and some of them are downright terrifying.
It seems like the people making the movie concocted a plot and cast worthy of a Saturday morning cartoon in order to make the ideas digestible. The problem is that it only works if you know that the movie isn't supposed to be funny and that a lot of it is true. If you want a quick overview of the crazy stuff our military has done with the paranormal and nontraditional warfare, go see it. If you like it, read the book and get the real story.
Oh, and another thing: How on earth did anyone, even an old hippie, think that putting LSD in the water at a military base was a good idea? And how on earth did the filmmakers miss the fact that if you have a lot of people with guns and tanks, and you dose them all with acid, some of them are going to start shooting people? There's no way you could do that without anybody getting killed. There are also myriad other ways you could end a movie like that without completely ignoring reality.
---- By the way, allow me to apologize for taking so long to complete this. My life has lately become a whirlwind of church events and such, and I'm having a hard time keeping track of things that aren't happening at a large building in Westerville or with a crowd of 20-somethings who get together to talk about our spiritual lives. I like being that involved, but I also kinda wish I could have an entire day off at some point.
And
I literally LOL'd
